File conversion is never perfect. This page sets out, in plain terms, what the PDFQuick tools can and cannot guarantee.
Always keep your original
Treat every output as a copy. Compression is lossy and conversions are reconstructions — if a document matters legally, financially or medically, keep the source file and check the result before you rely on it.
Known limitations
- Compress PDF converts pages to images: selectable text, links and form fields are lost.
- PDF to Word preserves text and paragraph breaks, but not columns, tables, images, headers or footers.
- Word to PDF supports .docx only; legacy binary .doc files cannot be read in the browser.
- No tool here performs OCR, so scanned documents have no text to extract.
- Encrypted or password-protected PDFs must be unlocked in your own PDF reader first.
- Very large files are limited by the memory your browser and device can allocate.
