What is the difference between .htm and .html?

Nothing at all — they are the same format. The shorter .htm exists because older systems only allowed three-letter file extensions.

Will the layout match the PDF exactly?

In 'Page images' mode, yes — each page is a picture of the original. Text-only mode reflows the words instead, which is better for reading on a phone.

Why is my HTML file large?

Embedded page images are stored inside the file. Choose 'Text only' for a very small file.

Can I edit the result?

Yes. It is plain HTML, so you can open it in any text or web editor and change it.
