Extract the text from a PDF and download it as an editable Word .docx document. Text and paragraph breaks are preserved; complex page layout is not.

PDF files · up to 100.0 MB each

What to expect: this converter preserves text and paragraph breaks, not columns, tables, images or fonts. Scanned PDFs contain no text layer and need OCR, which is not supported here.

How to use PDF to Word

  1. Add your PDF

Select a PDF that contains a real text layer (one created from a document, not a scan).

  2. Extract the text

pdf.js reads the text of each page in order and rebuilds the paragraphs.

  3. Download the .docx

Open the result in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice or Pages and edit freely.

Why use PDFQuick for this

Genuinely editable

The output is a real Open XML .docx file, not a PDF renamed with a .docx extension.

Preview before download

See the extracted text on screen so you know exactly what you're getting.

Honest about limits

We tell you when a PDF has no text layer instead of handing you an empty document.

Runs locally

Confidential reports are never uploaded — extraction happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Will the layout look the same in Word?

No. A PDF stores positioned glyphs rather than paragraphs, so multi-column layouts, tables, headers and footers are flattened into a plain text flow.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

No. Scanned pages are images with no text layer. Extracting them requires OCR, which PDFQuick does not provide.

Are images included in the .docx?

No. This tool extracts text only. Use PDF to JPG if you need the images from a document.

Which apps can open the result?

Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, Apple Pages and any other app that reads .docx.
